Ph.D. in Biological Sciences - Molecular and Cellular Biology, University of the Republic, Uruguay
Alvaro Fajardo is a postdoctoral fellow in the tenOever lab interested in viral evolution, virus-host interactions, and viral engineering. His research focuses primarily on deciphering molecular aspects of the biology of the Influenza A virus to explore novel gene therapy strategies. He is also involved in vitro and in vivo studies focusing on investigating the pathogenesis mechanisms occurring during SARS-CoV-2 infection. Before joining the tenOever lab, Alvaro completed his Ph.D. studies in the Molecular Virology Lab at, the University of the Republic, Uruguay, where his research focused on the molecular epidemiology of emerging arboviruses.
