BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Alvaro Fajardo is a postdoctoral fellow in the tenOever lab and is interested in viral evolution, virus-host interactions, and viral engineering. His research focuses on deciphering the molecular biology of influenza A virus, with a goal of exploring novel gene therapy strategies. He is also involved in investigating the mechanisms of pathogenesis in SARS-CoV-2 infection using in vitro and in vivo techniques. Before joining the tenOever Lab, Alvaro completed his PhD studies in the Molecular Virology Lab at the University of the Republic in Uruguay, where his research focused on the molecular epidemiology of emerging arboviruses.
