BIOGRAPHY

Fiorella Chacon is a PhD student in the tenOever Lab. She earned her B.A. in Chemistry from Columbia University, where she conducted research in the Cornish Lab developing yeast-based vaccine platforms, including an oral SARS-CoV-2 vaccine that incorporated self-assembling nanoparticles and adjuvants. Before beginning her graduate studies, Fiorella also served as a teaching assistant in chemistry and presented her undergraduate research at Columbia’s SINAI4US research symposia. In the tenOever Lab, Fiorella is investigating whether influenza A virus glycoproteins alter host-cell responsiveness by changing membrane properties, including membrane fluidity.
